HISTORY OF THE SMART EXPO
For those supply chain and logistics professionals who have
attended Smart Conference since its inception in 1993, the
associated exhibition has always provided an important component
-- the opportunity to see new products, network and discuss ideas.
In the early years the exhibition was principally focused on the
areas of materials handling, warehousing and transport. Interpoint
has spent significant time researching the market and from its
discussions with conference delegates, it identified the current
demand for a technology-focused event.
With the 2013 conference sponsors and expo located in the
same hall at Sydney's Darling Harbour Convention Centre, the
arrangement allowed conference delegates to visit and talk to the
many exhibitors representing a wide variety of goods and services,
from warehouse equipment and forklifts through data capture and
communications products to IT, training and supply chain services.
Over the past two years, there has been a significant level of
innovation and advancement in the supply chain and logistics
industry. With SMART acting as a forum to introduce new supply
chain research and technology, visitors have the opportunity to
learn more about products and services which could assist their
companies in day to day operations.
"SMART remains the largest event in Australia for the supply chain,
transport and logistics industry. It is the only occasion when all the major
industry bodies come together and the calibre of attendee is extremely
, said Simon Cooper, Managing Director of Interpoint Events.
CO-LOCATING WITH NATIONAL MANUFACTURING WEEK

This co-location with NMW will deliver an increased ratio of high level decision makers to SMART
expo, including engineers, directors, CEOs, GMs, owners, representatives from Government,
Defence and the resources sector. NMW will also bring over 200 quality suppliers to exhibit, making
