IMPROVING ON SMART EXPO
The industry's familiarity with technology makes it challenging to
organise an event which continues to deliver on innovation and, for
this reason, Interpoint Events, the organisers of Smart Expo, have
created ways to increase value for exhibitors
One of these methods is the inclusion of QR codes on visitor
name badges. Barcodes have always had a presence on visitor
badges, allowing exhibitors to scan them using a hired lead tracker,
and access their contact details at a fee. At Smart Expo, QR codes
on all visitor badges will be freely scanned by exhibitors using their
own mobile devices. This means that exhibitors are able to gain the
visitors contact information at no cost, using their own equipment.
This lead capture is essential for delivering return on investment for
exhibitors, creating a free way for exhibitors to follow up on contacts.
Smart Expo gives companies the chance to present their product
on a visual platform, one that allows visitors to touch, see, hear,
feel and experience it in a way that is not possible over the
internet. This kind of interaction with a product is essential in the
supply chain and logistics industry, where investment may exceed
thousands of dollars.
EXHIBITIONS CAN GENERATE LEADS AND
BOOST BRAND AWARENESS, BUT IS THAT
ALL THEY ARE GOOD FOR?
Traditionally, exhibitors have had two main objectives going into
Smart Expo -- generating new sales leads, as well as increasing
brand awareness within the industry. These are essential as part
of an integrated marketing campaign, however there are also a
number of benefits that businesses may not associate with Smart
Expo, or expos in general.
The first and arguably most important is to source live customer
feedback. By talking with potential clients and customers, you can
gain a real insight into their thought process, and their reasons for
purchase. This will set you up to better assist clients in the future,
and put forward suggested products that they are more likely to
purchase. Trade shows also build credibility with prospects, as it
gives you a chance to provide outstanding customer service and
leave a lasting first impression.
Another key benefit is the insight you gain on your competitors.
By looking at other exhibits, and getting an idea of their latest
products on offer, you can gather intel on the latest trends,
strategies and threats. Although you may see these companies as
competitors to you, be open to exploring new partnerships as well.
You may discover another exhibitor which could work with you
to create a strategic alliance in marketing, or perhaps a product-
