station. Products stored in the Speeder system
are automatically transferred to this work station.
Products from the overstock area are transported
to the work station using a forklift truck. Order
fulfilment is guided by RF, and the products are
assigned to the individual customer orders.
Pick-to-belt for full cases
If the ordered quantity of a medicine is more than
or equal to a full case, orders are picked in the
area for oversized products by means of the pick-
to-belt technology. Full cases are picked directly
from the overstock area using RF, a barcode is
applied and then the cases are taken directly to
the dispatch area on a separate conveyor.
Cold-storage products (2°C – 8°C)
Delivery notes are printed during the processing
of cold-storage and oversized products. The
information contained on this note includes the
virtual container ID for the order in barcode form.
The operator scans the barcode of this delivery
note, and the products to be picked are displayed
on the RF terminal. The cold-storage products for
one picking order are picked into a cool container
and the associated delivery note is attached.
Several picking orders along the same route
are placed into a single container, so that they
can be transported to the dispatch area. Since
the dispatch ramp ID is included on the routing
label, the cool containers are diverted to the
relevant dispatch ramp. Temperature sensors
in the boxes (data loggers) ensure the specified
cooling temperature does not change.
Urgent orders are rush orders from pharma-
cies that the customer has elected to pick up,
for example, by a cab, within minutes. These
orders are transmitted by the ERP system in a
special route, marked with ‘URGENT’. KiSoft
ensures that order fulfilment and picking is
possible at short notice. Orders are picked using
RF terminals with guidance along the optimal
route through the warehouse.
For special orders (products not in stock), KiSoft
creates a virtual product ID, which is also transmit-
ted with the customer order by the ERP system.
The virtual product is picked at the checking
station, the detailed information for the product that
is actually required is queried in the ERP system.
If the system falls below a certain defined
minimum stock level (number of products or
number of storage containers), KiSoft triggers
automatic replenishment at the picking station
(e.g . central belt auto-picker, flow rack, static
rack or pallet work station). After the transport
order for replenishment is generated, the work
station is either refilled via the Speeder system,
or the order is fulfilled manually.
At ARAGOFAR, returns are pre-sorted in the ERP
system and only returns in perfect condition are
transmitted to KiSoft. The system-directed integra-
tion of customer returns into the logistics system
is carried out according to the LIFO principle (last
in first out) at the OSR Shuttle work station, inde-
pendent of the original storage location.
Order check and quality assurance
At ARAGOFAR, order check and quality
assurance is performed at a single point, at the
final check station. With Check-station M, the
operator can check the content of the container
semi-automatically. If any products are missing,
the operator triggers follow-up picking. These
products are picked using RF and transferred
