Home' MHD Supply Chain Solutions : MHD Jul-Aug 2016 Contents As a Toyota-backed
product, TMHA offers full
nationwide back-up and support
services -- the same as for any other
forklift or item of material handling equipment.
"This is a real point of difference for Toyota,"
Mr Raggio says. "Rather than investing in a
highly specialised piece of equipment that
only a relative few have the skills to maintain
or service, our AGV customers will enjoy all
the advantages of after-sales and service
support from our 15 TMHA and factory-backed
branches right around the country."
In keeping with its aim of making things as
easy as possible for its customers, the installation
and setting up of the autopilot technology is
quick and won't disrupt regular operations.
"Our trained team will come in, asses the
customers' specific situation and set up the
autopilot laser navigation system before testing
it thoroughly to ensure everything is working as
it should. Of course, if any follow-up is required
our technicians are always available."
Toyota's Autopilot AGV driverless forklift
range is equally suited to simple, stand-alone
applications with repetitive A to B transport
movements and larger operations where
multiple forklifts can be integrated into a
customer's existing warehouse management or
manufacturing execution system infrastructure.
The autopilot technology is also highly
adaptable and scalable, enabling it to expand in
keeping with growing business demands.
Toyota Material Handling's AGV driverless forklift
technology arrives in Australia with a proven
track record of success in Europe.
"For example, a customer in Belgium is using
its fleet of Toyota autopilot-equipped driverless
stackers to even out the workflow in its logistics
division during peak times, saving time and
reducing costs by removing the need to hire
temporary workers. The autopilot takes care of
TMHA CAPS RECORD YEAR WITH
TMHA capped off a record market share year
in 2015 by receiving the highest recognition
at the recent Toyota Material Handling
International (TMHI) distributor awards.
The President's Award for overall business
excellence recognises TMHA as the top
distributor in sales and customer support
categories, taking into account equipment
sales, service and parts performance and
overall business profitability.
The award was presented in April by
Toyota Industries Corporation executive
vice president Kazue Sasaki at the awards
ceremony held in the grand ballroom of the
Marriot Hotel in Nagoya, Japan.
This is the most prestigious award issued
by TMHA's global parent company and saw
it take the number one position ahead of
the more than 130 countries that make up
the TMHI region.
TMHA executive vice president and COO
Steve Takacs accepted the award on behalf
of TMHA and said winning the award was
a terrific achievement that recognises the
efforts of all TMHA staff.
"Being acknowledged by our parent
company for the outstanding service and
support we provide to our customers is a
great achievement and a fitting reward for
the hard work put in by everyone in our
business operation," Mr Takacs said.
"This award comes at a very exciting time
for TMHA. We are growing in staff numbers
and the business is more viable than ever.
"Strong sales figures in 2015 helped us
record our seventh consecutive year as the
number one forklift brand in Australia and
our highest ever market share.
"In terms of product, this year we've already
launched a new range of battery-electric
Toyota counterbalance forklifts that strengthen
our product range, and have just introduced
our first automated guided driverless forklift to
the local market," he said.
"It all adds up to another year with great
potential and we look forward to building
on these successes through the remainder
