Trumps, which manufactures and supplies
health foods including nuts and dried fruit to
wholesale and retail customers around Australia,
uses Crown reach trucks and walkie stackers
at its head office warehouse in Rocklea,
Archerfield and its allergen-free site in Acacia
The company also employed the expertise
of Crown Warehouse Solutions to design and
supply the racking and shelving at the Acacia
Ridge site, which opened in 2012.
The relationship between Trumps and Crown
Equipment began in 2009. Trumps currently
leases a number of units across Australia,
including Crown RR Series pantograph reach
trucks and SHR heavy duty reach stackers,
and plans to take on more to help manage
Site production manager Gavin Devine said
the combination of reliable machinery, a flexible
approach to service, and a solid track record
for providing the uptime required for optimum
product quality has helped Trumps form a
strong partnership with Crown.
“Crown is a critical part of our business,” Mr
“We’ve got sites that run 24 hours a day and
it’s paramount that we have equipment that is
reliable, flexible and able to meet our needs as
a manufacturing business.
“We have 18 pieces of equipment from
Crown, from reach trucks that we use for our
drive-in racking system to floor pallet runners
that are used to pick our stock.”
Mr Devine said Trumps has benefitted from
Crown’s expertise in racking and shelving
“When we built this facility back in 2012 we
needed to make sure that we had a site that
was flexible with the amount of equipment that
“We got Crown to come in and measure-up
our facility to see what racking we could put in
to make sure that we were maximising the floor
space that we had. They gave us a drawing and
presented us with a case.
“Over the course of a week they fitted-out our
facility to make sure we’ve got space available
for our incoming stock.”
Reliable equipment combined with solid
support helped Crown form a solid working
relationship with Trumps.
“With our operations running 24 hours a day
we need to ensure that we run consistently and
that we also run efficiently.
“So Crown is there to support us and we
utilise the help available to us when we need to.
“We’ve had feedback from our staff that the
equipment is easy to use and it does the job for
us but in the event that something isn’t quite
right we’re able to communicate that to Crown
and get them out to resolve any related issues.
“We need to make sure that the equipment
is user-friendly and that staff are comfortable in
the equipment they are using.
“The forklifts, the pallet runners that we use
within our three sites, they’re fantastic units, we
can’t fault them.”
Crown also features in the company’s
“Currently we’ve placed an order
for four new reach trucks. One of
those will be issued to our DC over in Western
Australia, the other three will be issued to our
sites here in Brisbane.
“That equipment coming on board in the next
few months will ensure that our staff will be kept
well informed with new technology in forklifts.
“Our business continues to grow but the
good thing about Crown is that it’s growing with
“Crown keeps on coming to us, not only
letting us know what new, updated equipment
and technology is available but also making sure
that the equipment we do have is checked to
see if it needs repair or upgrading.
“It helps make our company more flexible
and more reliable and allows us to continue to
grow as a business.”
